Houston Recap

Food, Fun, Fellowship, & Fraternity

What an experience. We had an incredible time in Houston this weekend.

Friday night was all about bonding. Game night and fellowship with guests from around the region made for the perfect start to the weekend. Old school spades took over the kitchen island while Uno No Mercy battles were happening in the dining room. And of course, libations were flowing all around.

Saturday afternoon, at the reasonable hour of noon, we kicked off the first of two demos for the day. Sir Prussian Fyre and Lucky Fyre graciously presented a Fire Play demonstration that was both educational and engaging. We gained new knowledge, strengthened connections, and made new friends in the process.

After a quick pizza break, it was time for business. Community does not build itself, and the work matters.

Aztec, one of our longtime associate members, then presented a virtual Introduction to Fisting demo as part of our internal education efforts. One of our goals is teaching our membership how to confidently share their knowledge with the communities around them. There is no safer place to learn and practice than among your brothers. It was his first time presenting, and he did a fantastic job.

Then came the primary purpose of the trip: our bar night at Ripcord, who welcomed us with open arms.

From the moment we arrived, members of the community immediately engaged with us. The hunger for our presence was evident. Conversations quickly turned toward who we are, what we do, and what it would take to establish a chapter in Houston.

Like all of our bar nights, this was about fellowship first and foremost. It gave us an opportunity to spend time with a growing contingency of brothers and supporters in this part of our region while also evaluating future expansion opportunities.

It is past time for us to deepen our programming and visibility in the Houston market. This weekend proved that the interest is here. Now that we have connected with so many people from different walks of life across Houston, it is time to build on this momentum.

Thank you, Houston, for welcoming us through our shared love of leather, fellowship, and community.
