Nine Years of Brotherhood, Service, and Purpose

Thank you to everyone who showed up and showed out with us this weekend as we celebrated the 9th Anniversary of ONYX Lone Star!

To our Brothers and Sisters who traveled from other chapters, including Great Lakes, Midwest, Southeast, and ONYX Pearls Lustre Southwest, your presence honored us and reminded us that our bonds of brotherhood and family extend far beyond our regional borders.

To the spouses, significant others, and friends who joined us, thank you for the love and support you give our Brothers, both individually and collectively. Your presence and encouragement are part of what makes our work possible.

To the potential pledges who joined us, thank you for choosing to celebrate this milestone with us and allowing us the opportunity to begin getting to know you. We look forward to seeing where your journeys may lead.

One of the highlights of our celebration was welcoming Master TC as an Honorary Member of ONYX Lone Star. After nine years of faithful friendship, unwavering support, and dedicated service to helping our chapter grow, it was our honor to formally welcome him into the fold. Welcome, Brother!

Congratulations to Aztec, our Associate of the Year! Your continued service, dedication, and support, even from a considerable distance, demonstrate that commitment to this Brotherhood is not measured in miles, but in actions. Thank you for continuing to answer the call.

On a personal note, receiving the Brother of the Year award represents the culmination of a journey to discover my purpose along my ONYX path. I have never approached this work seeking praise, recognition, or accolades. However, receiving this honor from my Brothers provides a sense of validation that the work I am doing, the decisions I am making, and the path I am walking are making a positive difference in the eyes of those I serve. For that, I am deeply humbled and grateful. Thank you, Brothers.

Beyond the awards, fellowship, and festivities, this weekend was also a celebration of self care, reflection, and renewal.

We spend so much of our time answering the call to serve others that we sometimes forget to celebrate ourselves and the work we have accomplished. We must remember that taking time to recognize our achievements is not an act of vanity. It is an acknowledgment of the energy, sacrifice, and commitment required to sustain the work we do.

Our mission extends beyond the leather we wear and the patches we proudly display. We are helping develop future BIPOC leaders, preserving our cultural heritage, building community connections, and continuing to hold space for those who do not always feel seen, heard, or represented in the many cultures and communities we navigate.

Nine years is more than a milestone. It is a testament to the Brothers who came before us, those who stand among us, and those who will carry our legacy forward.

So, to my ONYX Lone Star Brothers, I say congratulations. Congratulations on answering the call. Congratulations on doing the work. Congratulations on continuing to build something greater than any one of us.

Yesterday, we celebrated our accomplishments, honored our journey, and recharged our spirits.

Today, we return to the work.

In Leather and In Life,

Thoth ONYX

President, ONYX Lone Star
